Taxi At Your Service

I made this image while teaching a workshop at the Maine Photography Workshop in 2007.

In town there was an old union hall with beautiful light coming in, and hanging on the wall was a 48-star American flag. The model happened to be wearing red shoes, which made the whole thing feel meant to be.

I had her take the flag and move with it, dance with it, and in one spinning motion everything came together. Out of that sequence came several strong images, but this one had a life of its own.

It went on to become a successful large gallery print, produced on ChromaLuxe metal as well as archival paper. Here, as an art poster for RDO, it is reproduced on the same archival paper used for my gallery and museum prints.

Spinning Flag is available as a Fine Art Poster
